Tennis Signs Two to National Letters of Intent

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers head tennis coach Ben Bucca has announced the signing of Jacqueline Cochrane (Fort Dodge, Iowa) and Katherine Muzik (Mableton, Ga.) to national letters of intent to begin competing for the Scarlet Knights starting in the fall of 2016.
"We're thrilled to have Jacqueline and Katherine join our program," Bucca said. "Both players have strong national junior tennis experience and are well prepared for college tennis. They are serious-minded athletes who will fit in with the strong positive culture we have here at Rutgers."
Rated a four-star prospect, the third-best high school player in the state of Georgia and the No. 68 recruit nationally by Tennisrecruiting.net, Muzik currently holds the 30th-best RPI in the country. Muzik owns a 35-18 record in singles action this season against some of the best high school athletes in the country.
Cochrane is also rated a four-star prospect by Tennisrecruiting.com, with her strength of schedule ranked 99th in the nation. The second-best high school player in the state of Iowa, Cochrane has 25 singles victories this season and also secured an Iowa Girls 2A State title in 2013.
The Scarlet Knights begin their spring schedule on Sunday, Jan. 31 at the University of Pennsylvania. RU's schedule features 10 out-of-conference opponents and 11 Big Ten Conference matchups.
