ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Ten members of the Rutgers men's soccer team were among the 83 Scarlet Knights recognized by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday by earning Fall 2015 Academic All-Big Ten honors.
Seniors JP Correa (Montville, N.J.), Kieran Kemmerer (Belle Mead, N.J.), Drew Morgan (Atlanta, Ga.) and junior Mitchell Walier (Holmdel, N.J.) were all named Academic All-Big Ten for the second consecutive year.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
"We had great team success on the field, but that is outweighed by the accomplishments of our guys in the classroom," said head coach Dan Donigan. "This recognition goes to the forefront of what we discuss with potential prospects to our program. Our team has earned the NSCAA Academic Award four out of the last five years and many individual academic awards in addition to this recognition by the Big Ten. Our success as a program goes well beyond the soccer field. I am very proud of these guys."
