IOWA CITY, Iowa - In its first trip to Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Rutgers (10-17, 2-12) dropped a 81-47 decision to Iowa (16-10, 7-6) on Thursday evening. Freshman forward D.J. Foreman set career highs with 10 points and eight rebounds, while playing a team-high 26 minutes.


Senior guard Myles Mack led the Scarlet Knights in the scoring column with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including a 3-of-5 mark from behind the arc.

Iowa made 50.8 percent (30-of-59) of its field goal attempts to earn the victory. The Hawkeyes also established a 39-33 rebounding advantage.

Rutgers matched the Hawkeyes early in the contest, as a Mack three-pointer and a Junior Etou layup had the score tied at 5-5 early. Iowa pushed ahead with a quick 9-0 run for a 14-5 lead before another three-pointer from Mack ended a RU scoring drought.

The Hawkeyes again scored nine consecutive points to take a 23-8 lead at the game's second media timeout. Nkereuwem Okoro entered off the bench and gave the Scarlet Knights a spark, with five straight points to cut into the deficit.

Rutgers made five out of six field goals to cut the lead to 11, but entered the halftime locker room trailing 42-24. The road squad was undone by 10 first half turnovers, while shooting 34 percent in contrast to 45 percent for the home team.

Iowa used a 9-0 run early in the second half to increase its advantage. The Scarlet Knights got extended minutes from their bench in the second half, with multiple freshmen seeing significant action. The Hawkeyes closed out the game down the stretch to ensure the victory.

The Scarlet Knights return home to host Indiana at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday. The contest versus the Hoosiers, which will be televised on BTN, is sold out to the general public. Students can still acquire tickets for the contest by clicking here .

Postgame Notes
· Myles Mack scored 11 points, and now has 1,604 for his career. He ties Eric Riggins for 8th place on Rutgers' all-time leaderboard.

· It was Mack's 13th time leading the team in scoring this season and 19th time scoring in double digits.
· D.J. Foreman had a career-high 10 points and eight rebounds. He led Rutgers in rebounding for the first time in his career.
· 10 different players scored for the Scarlet Knights.
· Rutgers used 14 players, tied for the most used in a game this season.
· Shaquille Doorson had a career-high two assists.
· Khalil Batie had a career-high three rebounds in a career-high eight minutes played.
· Stephen Zurich (12 minutes) saw the most extensive action of his career.
· Jake Dadika had his first career steal and rebound.
· Jalen Hyde had his first career steal.

· Iowa now leads the all-time series 2-0. The previous meeting between the two schools came in the 1989 NCAA Tournament.
