Men's X/C Opens Season at Fordham Fiasco

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers men's cross country team will compete in the Fordham Fiasco, hosted by Fordham University on Saturday, Sept. 12. The race begins at 10:30 a.m. at legendary Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
Last fall, the Scarlet Knights placed fifth in the race, finishing the five-mile run with a total time of 2:28:04 .12 to earn 142 points.
Sophomore Trent Brinkofski (Somerset, N.J.) was the top finisher for RU in the race last season, placing 23rd in the 71-athlete field with a final time of 28:21.03 and an average mile of 5:40.2. Senior Jaimin Vekaria (Clinton, N.J.) and junior Nicholas Price (Old Bridge, N.J.) rounded out the top-three for the Scarlet Knights, finishing 31st (28:56.75) and 32nd (28:58.33), respectively.
Following Saturday's race, Rutgers will compete in its first event in the Garden State, participating in the Rider Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Rosedale Park in Pennington, N.J.
