Men's Cross Country Travels to Princeton Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's cross country continues its season with the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 9:45 a.m. in Princeton, New Jersey. The race will serve as the Scarlet Knights' final tune-up before the Big Ten Championships on Oct. 30 in Falcon Heights, Minnesota.

Along with RU and Princeton, the field features American, Binghamton, Columbia, George Washington, Harvard, Hofstra, Iona, LaSalle, Loyola, Marist, Maryland, Maryland Eastern Shore, McNeese State, Monmouth, NJIT, Penn, Rider, Sacred Heart, St. Joe's, Stony Brook, UMBC, UNCG and Yale.
In its last time out, Rutgers finished second at the Metropolitan Championships on Oct. 7 in Van Cortlandt Park, the best team result for the Scarlet Knights in the past seven years. Junior Trent Brinkofski led the way for RU with a fifth-place time of 26:26.6. For his efforts, Brinkofski was named Big Ten Athlete of the Week, the second time he has collected the honor in his career.
Seven Scarlet Knights placed within the top-20 of competitors at the Met Championships, as sophomore Dominick Munson finished right behind Brinkofski with his sixth-place result of 26:39.3. Rookie Nicholas Pschunder (13th -- 26:59.8), sophomore Conor Murphy (14th -- 26:59.8), junior Alexander Livernois (16th-- 27:04.9), senior Nicholas Price (19th -- 27:06.3) and junior Luke Wiley (20th -- 27:08.8) all helped Rutgers collect its best team result at the Metropolitan Championships since the Scarlet Knights finished third at last year's event.
