Men's Cross Country Finishes Sixth at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - In its final competition before the Big Ten Championships, Rutgers men's cross country finished sixth at the Princeton Invitational Saturday morning in Princeton, New Jersey. The Scarlet Knights produced an average mile of 24:55.4 to secure 188 team points during weekend action. Columbia captured the team title, followed by Yale and Penn.
With the result, RU improved five places from last year, with its five mile average 20 seconds faster than last season's finish. Rutgers is currently ranked 12th in its region out of 40 programs.
Sophomore Conor Murphy was the top finisher for RU at 20th, crossing the line with a time of 24:42.9. Classmate Dominick Munson also joined Murphy within the top-30 of finishers with a 25th-place time of 24:44.7.
Senior Nicholas Price finished 38th with a time of 24:55.4, junior Trent Brinkofski placed 45th with a mark of 25:01.3, while junior Alexander Livernois added a 60th-place time of 25:12.7 to contribute to the team total.
Rutgers returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 30, when the Scarlet Knights travel to Falcon Heights, Minnesota to compete at the Big Ten Championships.
