MADISON, Wis. - Two second half goals from senior Rose Lavelle powered Wisconsin to a 2-1 win over Rutgers women's soccer Wednesday evening at McClimon Soccer Complex. The Scarlet Knights (9-3-6, 4-2-5) jumped ahead in the 40th minute on a goal from senior Erica Murphy, but the Badgers (8-4-7, 5-2-4) battled back in the second half for the win.

The loss gives Rutgers the No. 7 seed for the upcoming Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament, which begins on Sunday, Oct. 30. The Scarlet Knights will travel to play No. 2 seed, Penn State, at 1 p.m. in University Park, Pennsylvania. The No. 21-ranked Nittany Lions (11-3-4, 7-1-3) earned a share of the Big Ten regular season title with a win Wednesday night.
Senior goalkeeper Alana Jimenez made four saves for Rutgers against Wisconsin. The loss was RU's first in regulation this season.
The Scarlet Knights played PSU to a 2-2 draw in 110 minutes of action on Oct. 13 at Jeffrey Field. The two programs will meet in the postseason for the second consecutive year.
