Softball Releases 2017 Spring Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers softball team has released its schedule for the 2017 season. The 56-game campaign includes six tournaments, three midweek non-conference matchups and eight Big Ten series.
2017 RUTGERS SOFTBALL SCHEDULE
The 2017 slate consists of nine 2016 NCAA Qualifiers highlighted by conference foe Michigan, which advanced to the Women's College World Series for the second consecutive season. The Wolverines also secured the outright 2016 Big Ten Championship for the ninth straight year.
Four additional conference champions will cross paths with RU, including LIU-Brooklyn (NEC Champions), Fordham (Atlantic 10 Champions), Florida A&M (MEAC Champions), and North Dakota State (Summit League Champions).
RU opens the season with 38 consecutive games on the road. It all begins with six tournaments hosted at Florida International (Feb. 10-12), San Diego State (Feb. 17-19), Florida Gulf Coast (Feb. 24-26), North Carolina State (March 3-5), Florida Atlantic (March 10-12), and South Florida (March 17-19).
Following the tournaments, the Scarlet Knights enter conference action at Indiana (March 24-26). After a midweek nonconference matchup at Hofstra (March 29), RU makes a trip to Ohio State (March 31-April 2). The grueling road swing concludes with an in-state trip to Seton Hall (April 5).
Rutgers then returns for its first home contests of the season, hosting Nebraska for a three-game series from April 7-9 at the RU Softball Complex.
The Scarlet Knights remaining conference road matchups include Iowa (April 14-16), and Penn State (April 21-23). In turn, RU will also host Maryland (DH - April 19), Michigan State (April 28-30), and Michigan (May 5-7).
