Women's Soccer Ranked No. 25 in NSCAA Poll

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers women's soccer is ranked No. 25 this week in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Poll, released Tuesday. The Scarlet Knights (10-3-6, 4-2-5) defeated the No. 21 Penn State Nittany Lions in the Quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament over the weekend.

Rutgers topped PSU on goals from seniors Madison Tiernan and Erica Murphy to advance to the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals for the second year in a row. It was Rutgers' third win this season against an NSCAA ranked opponent. The Scarlet Knights return to the NSCAA rankings for the first time since Oct. 4.
RU is ranked No. 24 by TopDrawerSoccer.com and No. 21 by Soccer America this week. RU has earned a spot in 30 of the last 33 NSCAA Polls dating back to the middle of 2014.
Rutgers will travel to St. Paul, Minnesota for a 5:30 p.m. ET match against No. 17 Northwestern (14-1-4, 7-1-3) in the Big Ten Semifinals. The Scarlet Knights blanked a ranked Northwestern team at home earlier this season, 2-0. The match will be televised live on Big Ten Network.
