Men's Golf Concludes at B1G Match Play Championship

Round 3 Results | Final Round Results PALM COAST, Fla. - The Rutgers men's golf team closed out its play at the Big Ten Match Play Championship, losing to Indiana, 4-2, in the third round and to Nebraska, 5-1, in the final round Saturday at the Hammock Resort in Palm Coast, Fla.
The Scarlet Knights entered day two of the event after collecting a 3.5-2.5 victory over Michigan in the opening round, with individual wins from Matt Holuta (Indiana, Pa.), Louis Bodine (Flemington, N.J.) and Jonathan Chang (Valencia, Calif.) to secure the team victory.
Michigan State captured the match play championship, defeating Northwestern, 5-1. Purdue finished third in the event after a 5-1 victory over the Hoosiers.
Against Indiana, Holuta delivered his second individual win during weekend action, picking up a 6&5 victory over Jack Sparrow. Holuta also had a 2-Up win against Michigan's Tom Swanson during weekend play. Chang and Toks Pedro (Lagos, Nigeria) finished all square against Indiana to contribute to the final result.
RU was then paired with Nebraska from the west region to close out play. Chang was the lone winner for the Scarlet Knights with a 1-UP result against Cornhusker Joel Sneed.
In total, Rutgers had six individual wins and four all square results during the championship. Chang produced three wins, Holuta had two wins while Pedro and Louis Bodine (Flemington, N.J.) each contributed one victory for the Scarlet Knights.
RU will have some time off before returning to the links. The Scarlet Knights will compete at the Colleton River Classic from March 7-8 in Bluffton, S.C.
