PRINCETON, N.J. - Despite capturing the doubles point for the third-straight time this season, the Rutgers tennis team lost to Princeton, 5-2, Saturday afternoon on the road.
In doubles action, seniors Gina Li (Hillsborough, N.J.) and Mariam Zein (Sugarland, Texas) downed Princeton's Nicole Kalhom and Amanda Muliawan, 7-6 (1), to win in the No. 1 position. The duo of sophomore Chloe Lee (Albuquerque, N.M.) and junior Kesenija Tihomirova (Riga, Latvia) took down Emily Hahn and Katrine Steffensen, 6-0, in No. 2 doubles to secure the point for the Scarlet Knights.
In singles play, Tihomirova delivered her second singles victory of the season with a 6-4, 3-6 (10-8) set win in the No. 3 position. The Tigers would deliver five straight-set wins to close out the match.
