PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers head coach Eddie Jordan today announced that freshman guard Corey Sanders has been suspended from basketball activities for two weeks due to a violation of team rules. Sanders will not compete in the next four games as a result of the suspension.
"Although I am disappointed to announce this suspension, I believe that it will serve as a valuable learning experience for Corey," said Jordan. "The team will continue to work hard in his absence and looks forward to his return."
Sanders has played in 24 games (21 starts) this season and is averaging 16.2 points, 4.1 assists and 3.2 rebounds-per-game.
Rutgers will have no further comment on the matter.
