March 23, 2016 ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference recognized 32 Scarlet Knights Wednesday by placing them on the Winter 2016 Academic All-Big Ten list. Five different Rutgers programs are represented on the list. Twelve from women's swimming & diving, eight from women's gymnastics, six from wrestling, four from women's basketball and two from men's basketball comprised the list of standout student-athletes.
Women's gymnastics' Elizabeth Nand (Hampton, N.J.), a sophomore genetics major, was one of 12 students among the 780 Big Ten student-athletes honored on the Big Ten Academic All-Conference, who boasted an unblemished 4.0 cumulative GPA.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
