WALLACE, N.C. - Rutgers women's golf tied for eighth with a 937 (312-314-311) total at the 13-team River Landing Classic, played Saturday and Sunday at River Landing Golf Course. Senior Christina Paulsen led the Scarlet Knights, carding a 227 (73-77-77) to finish tied for 12th in the 75-player field.
"Christina had a great tournament from start to finish," said Head Coach Kari Williams. "Her 73 (+1) score in the opening round was fantastic, considering the windy and difficult playing conditions. We are excited for the next two weeks of Big Ten play and look forward to competing against some of the top teams in the country."
Paulsen was among the event leaders in pars and par four scoring. She had 34 pars and was plus five on par four's, the third best performance among all competitors on four stroke holes.
RU tied with Delaware and placed ahead of host UNC-Wilmington, Richmond, Yale and UAB.
Sophomore Emily Mills finished strong, carding a 75 on Sunday to tie for 33rd with a 235. She improved with every round, beginning with an 81, before posting a 79 in round two. Mills had six birdies.

William & Mary senior Alessandra Liu placed atop the leaderboard with a 217, shooting a one-under par 71 on Sunday to finish one over par. It marked Liu's fourth individual championship of the season, matching a school record.
