Men's Cross Country Heads to Rider Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's cross country continues its season with a trip to Pennington, New Jersey to compete in the Rider Invitational on Friday, Sept. 16. The Scarlet Knights finished sixth at last year's 8K course, located at Rosedale Park.
The race is set to begin at 5:45 p.m. EST. In addition to Rutgers and host Rider, the field features Marist, Siena, Richmond, Temple, LIU Brooklyn, The College of New Jersey and Wagner.
RU enters the meet after it placed seventh at the Harry Grove Spiked Shoe Invitational, hosted by Penn State, on Sept. 10 in University Park, Pennsylvania. Against some of the top programs in the region, sophomore Conor Murphy led Rutgers with a time of 27:11.1, good for 19th.
Sophomore Dominick Munson finished right behind Murphy at the Spike Shoe Invite with a 21st-place time of 27:12.8. Senior Nicholas Price and juniors Luke Wiley and Trent Brinkofski also completed the race within the top 50 of participants. Wiley produced the top time for Rutgers at last year's Rider Invite, coming in 21st with a result of 25:17.6.
Following the Rider Invitational, the Scarlet Knights will have a few weeks off before they compete at the Metropolitan Championships on Oct. 1 in the Bronx.
