Women’s Golf Set for Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

PISCATAWAY – Women's golf travels to the Evergreen State to compete at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, played Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct. 10-11), at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash. The Invitational is the fourth of five fall tournaments for the Scarlet Knights, who have finished fifth or better in their initial three events.
Seniors Emily Mills and Tatum Jackson, redshirt junior Ashleigh Greenham and freshmen Lori Char and Harriet Allsebrook will play 54 holes on the par 72, 6,023-yard course after a practice round on Monday. Thirty-six holes will be contested on Tuesday, with a final 18 slated for Wednesday.
Host Washington welcomes BYU, Colorado State, Georgetown, Portland State, Seattle, UC Davis, Colorado, Idaho, San Francisco and the Scarlet Knights to comprise an 11-team tournament on a course consistently ranked among the top 100 in America by Golf Digest.
Under the leadership of head coach Kari Williams, Rutgers enters the Invitational with a 301.44 team scoring average based upon nine rounds. Greenham leads the team with a 74.78 stroke average, with Mills slightly behind at 75.22. Jackson (76.22), Allsebrook (76.44) and Char (76.50) will complete a scorecard boasting five entries with stroke averages below 77.0.
Rutgers last competed at the 14-team Nittany Lion Invitational, Sept. 23-24, and placed fifth with an 894 (298-301-295) total. Mills carded a 71 in the final round to pace three Scarlet Knights in the top 20, placing 14th with a 221 (74-76-71) in the 85-player field.
