
Women's Soccer Moves Up to No. 22 in United Soccer Coaches Poll

Scarlet Knights earn Top 25 final regular season rank
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's soccer moved up to No. 22 in the final regular season ranking by United Soccer Coaches. Additionally, the Scarlet Knights are also ranked No. 21 by Soccer America, No. 23 by TopDrawerSoccer.com, while sitting at No. 11 in the NCAA Women's Soccer RPI.
Rutgers (12-2-5, 6-2-3) qualified for its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament, hosting La Salle in a First Round match on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. ET. It marks RU's eighth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 10 years and 12th time overall.
The Scarlet Knights enter NCAAs with a nation-best 0.247 GAA, while also ranked second in team shutout percentage (0.798) with 15 clean sheets in 19 contests.
Redshirt junior Casey Murphy, the 2017 Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year, leads the conference and is second in the nation in shutouts (15), GAA (0.247) and save percentage (.929). Forward Amirah Ali was named the 2017 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, posting five goals and four assists in her collegiate debut.
Murphy (First Team) and Ali (Third Team) were named All-Big Ten, while sophomore defender Chantelle Swaby (Second Team) also joined the players of the year with all-conference honors.
