Tennis Falls to Army

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Rutgers tennis lost to Army, 4-2, Saturday afternoon in West Point, New York. Senior Ksenija Tihomirova and freshman Katherine Muzik collected wins in No. 2 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Tihomirova delivered a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Genevieve McCormick in the No. 2 position, her second straight singles victory of the season. Muzik remained undefeated in singles plat with her 6-1, 6-3 win against Danna Funaro. The Mableton, Georgia, native is now 3-0 on the season to begin her collegiate dual career.
In doubles play, senior Farris Cunningham and freshman Jacqueline Cochrane defeated Ari Spirtos and Stella Fedelle, 6-0, in the No. 3 position. The duo is also a perfect 3-0 this spring.
Rutgers returns to action on Friday, Feb. 10, when the Scarlet Knights host Fordham at noon at the East Brunswick Racquet Club.
