Women's Golf Places 8th at Entrada Classic

St. George, Utah - Women's golf placed eighth with a 919 (308-298-313) total the 12-team BYU at Entrada Classic, played Monday and Tuesday. Freshman Carrie-Ann Lee paced the Scarlet Knights, carding a 228 (77-75-76) to finish tied for 23rd in the 70-player field.
Lee had nine birdies on the par 72, 6,168-yard course. She was joined among the top 30 by fellow rookie Ana Maria Cortes, who placed tied for 27th with a 230 (77-74-79). Cortes registered 33 pars.
Sophomore Astrid Aneman (79-76-78) and junior Tatum Jackson (76-77-80) concluded the event tied for 33rd with 233 totals. Aneman had 29 pars to help RU compile 156 pars in the tournament.
Redshirt sophomore Ashleigh Greenham (78-80-78) and junior captain Emily Mills (80-72-84) comprised the rest of the team scorecard, tying for 40th with 236 totals. Greenham tallied 34 pars, while Mills contributed 31.
RU's travel squad for the event did not feature a senior, and included two freshmen, two sophomores and two juniors.
No. 12-ranked Kent State won the Classic with a two-over 866 (289-286-291), 13 strokes ahead of host Brigham Young. The Flashes boasted the top two finishers, including tournament champion Karoline Stormo, who carded a four-under 212 (68-72-72).
The Scarlet Knights placed ahead of San Francisco, Southern Utah, Boise State and Utah Valley.
Rutgers, under the leadership of head coach Kari Williams, returns to action at the Iowa Invitational in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, April 2-4.
