Softball Hosts Nebraska for Home Opener

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - After a grueling road swing to open 2017, the Rutgers softball team is set to host Nebraska for its first home contests of the year with a three-game series from April 8-9.
Due to inclement weather in the forecast, the teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 8 beginning at 12 p.m. ET. Sunday's finale is set for 11 a.m. All contests will be streamed live on BTN Plus.

RU'S LAST TIME OUT
Rutgers (10-24, 1-5 Big Ten) completed a comeback win over Seton Hall, 13-7, on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore Whitney Jones registered 5.2 innings of relief to pick up her second win of the season. Juniors Rebecca Hall and Sierra Maddox, and freshman Anyssa Iliopoulos all added home runs in the win.
Hall is tied for third in the conference with 11 home runs on the season as well as fifth with 35 RBIs. Freshman Taryn Atlee ranks sixth in the league with a .416 batting average and tied for second with 47 hits.
SCOUTING NEBRASKA
Nebraska (13-20, 3-3 Big Ten) picked up a pair of wins over Iowa State on Wednesday afternoon.
Kaylan Jablonski picked up Co-Big Ten Player of the Week accolades after going 3-0 in the circle with a 2.45 ERA, while hitting .545 (6-for-11) in the Husker's road sweep at No. 22/21 Wisconsin. Jablonski also was named the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I National Player of the Week and USA Softball Collegiate National Player of the Week.
SERIES VERSUS THE CORNHUSKERS
This weekend marks the first meeting between Rutgers and Nebraska as conference foes. The lone matchup between the programs was in 1990, when the Cornhuskers edged the Scarlet Knights, 4-2.
