Rutgers Athletics Inducts Five to Hall of Fame

Doug Alongi (baseball), John Howland (lacrosse), Catherine Whetstone-Battoni (swimming), Ed Scharer (wrestling) and Carli Lloyd (soccer) were enshrined as the Rutgers Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2018 on Friday at the East Brunswick Hilton.
"Congratulations to our newest Hall of Fame inductees," Director of Athletics Pat Hobbs said, kicking off Friday's ceremony. "I hope this is one of the most special evenings of your life. Your accomplishments have not only impacted Rutgers, but their respective sports on an expansive scale."
Nominations are now being accepted for consideration for the Class of 2019 Rutgers Athletics Hall of Fame. The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2018.
