Playfly to offer research studies and national sponsorship sales
NEW YORK / NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (October 14, 2026) – Rutgers Athletics today announced an extension of their ticketing partnership with Playfly Sports, the sports industry's leading revenue maximization company. The multi-year partnership is managed through Scarlet Knights Enterprises.
Rutgers Athletics has partnered with Playfly on its ticket sales operation since 2019. Playfly's on-campus team of 12 is dedicated to ticket sales, service, and premium for all Rutgers ticketed sporting events as well as supporting the philanthropic donations through the R Fund.
This agreement also expands the scope of the partnership beyond ticketing. Playfly will assist with national sponsorship inventory on behalf of Scarlet Knight Enterprises and offer yield management consulting services and customized fan research studies to optimize ticket prices and drive revenue generation for the athletic department.
"We are honored to extend our relationship with Rutgers Athletics & SKE after supporting the Scarlet Knights in driving 50% growth in ticketing revenue since 2019," said A.J. Smith, Vice President, Business Development, Playfly Sports. "We're excited for the opportunity to continue to work closely together with Todd Knisley, Fred Mangione and Brian Cahill, and together, we're going to build upon our already-strong foundation to continue to elevate the fan experience and drive transformational revenue growth on the banks."
"Playfly continues to serve as a key partner for Rutgers Athletics, helping to drive revenue growth for our department," said Todd Knisley, Chief Operating and Revenue Officer, Rutgers Athletics. "They truly work as an extension of our staff and fully understand our mission, the goals we set out to achieve and the strategy it takes to execute."
"Our relationship with Playfly has been valuable in providing the resources, experiences, and best practices that are key to remaining competitive in the ever-changing collegiate athletics landscape," said Fred Mangione, President/CEO, Scarlet Knights Enterprises. "We know what success looks like for our team and our focus is on continuing our upward momentum."
