Scarlet Knights and Golden Gophers match up on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 21 Rutgers women's soccer, slated as the second seed, will host seventh-seeded Minnesota on Sunday, Oct. 28 in a Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal match. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET at Yurcak Field.
The Scarlet Knights concluded the regular season with a record of 11-2-5 and 7-1-3 in Big Ten play. RU finished as the runner-up for the conference regular season title, as the second-place result marks the highest for the program since joining the league in 2014.
The Golden Gophers finished the year with an overall mark of 9-8-1 and a league mark of 5-5-1.
Rutgers will compete in its fifth consecutive Big Ten Tournament since joining the league in 2014, earning its highest seed to date. RU and UM have met in two of the last three Big Ten Tournaments.
The teams last met in the postseason in the 2016 Big Ten Championship match, where RU fell short in a slim 2-1 decision in St. Paul, Minnesota. The year prior, Rutgers earned a 4-1 win over the Gophers in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals, marking the first meeting in postseason.
This regular season, the Scarlet Knights claimed a 2-1, double-overtime victory on the road.
