Scarlet Knights conclude play Sunday in Greensboro, North Carolina

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Rutgers men's golf closed out the first day of action at the Grandover Collegiate in Greensboro, North Carolina. Battling wet and raining conditions at the Grandover Resort throughout the day, sophomore Christopher Gotterup carded an even 72 in the second round to highlight action for the Scarlet Knights during Saturday play.

With one round to play, RU is tied-for-10th in the talented field. The tournament features four Big Ten Conference teams and three programs – No. 35 Liberty, No. 38 Northwestern and No. 49 Penn State – that appear in the initial top-50 rankings by GolfStat.

Gotterup record four birdies on holes two, six, eight and 12 to face the team. Gotterup is tied for third in par-5 scoring with a 4.50 (-2) scoring average through two rounds of action.

Rutgers will finish the tournament and the fall season tomorrow with the third and final round.
