SCOUTING RUTGERS
The Scarlet Knights, returning to the field off a bye week, took Northwestern to the wire last time out. RU had the lead at halftime and through three quarters against the Big Ten West leaders, but the Wildcats posted the final 11 points for the 18-15 win. Freshman Isaih Pacheco reeled off a 44-yard rushing touchdown for the longest offensive play of the season, sophomore Justin Davidovicz added a pair of field goals and junior Willington Previlon picked up a sack in the end zone for the first Rutgers safety since 2009.

Pacheco has scored in each of the last two games and is averaging 4.8 yards per carry on 62 attempts as a rookie. Sophomore Raheem Blackshear paces the team with 686 all-purpose yards, 90 carries and 27 receptions. The last Scarlet Knight to lead the team in both carries and receptions throughout a season was Brian Leonard in 2003.

Freshman Artur Sitkowski has started all eight games at quarterback, totaling 839 passing yards on 103 completions. Freshman Eddie Lewis has been on the receiving end of 22 passes, the most catches by an RU true freshman in a season since Mohamed Sanu in 2009. Both sophomore Bo Melton and senior Jerome Washington have 202 receiving yards.

Defensively, senior Trevor Morris is three tackles away from becoming the 11th player in school history to reach 300 career tackles. He is fourth in the Big Ten with 8.9 stops per game this year. Sophomore Elorm Lumor owns team-highs with six tackles-for-loss and 3.5 sacks, while redshirt freshman Mike Tverdov has three sacks. Rutgers has 44 tackles-for-loss through eight games after having 30 at the same point last season, coming off a game with a season-high eight pass breakups.

Sophomore Adam Korsak, who was added to the Ray Guy Award watch list, blasted a school-record 79-yard punt against Northwestern that also included a three-yard penalty for a net gain of 82 on the exchange. He has helped the Scarlet Knights to a net punt average of 40.6 overall, a mark that would be the highest in a season in program history. Sophomore Justin Davidovicz is 7-for-8 on field goals with a long of 52 yards. He also ignites the kickoff unit that is first in the league with a 42.1 net average and fifth nationally with 15.93 yards allowed per kickoff return.

The Scarlet Knights have debuted 31 players this season, including 27 who have made their collegiate debut. Thirteen true freshmen have seen action.

SCOUTING WISCONSIN
The Badgers dropped out of the national rankings this week after falling, 31-14, at Northwestern. Jack Coan made his first career start at quarterback and went 20-for-31 for 158 yards and one touchdown in place of Alex Hornibrook, who has 11 passing touchdowns on the season. Jonathan Taylor leads the nation with a 1,155 rushing yards, while A.J. Taylor paces the offense with 373 receiving yards. T.J. Edwards is the Big Ten active leader at 308 career tackles, 11 ahead of Morris, for a defense that has caused 17 turnovers.

Head coach Paul Chryst is in his fourth season leading Wisconsin. The team has claimed wins over Western Kentucky, New Mexico, Iowa, Nebraska and Illinois this season.

RU: FBALL at Wisconsin 2015
THE SERIES
Rutgers is set to make its second trip to Camp Randall Stadium in what will be the third overall meeting between the programs. In its first trip to Madison in 2015, RU fell behind early and could not recover in a 48-10 loss. Blessuan Austin highlighted the day for the Scarlet Knights with a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter. Ten players on the current Rutgers roster participated in that game. The initial meeting took place in Piscataway for Homecoming in 2014. Wisconsin scored 20 points in the first half on the way to a 37-0 win. The next matchup is set for Nov. 6, 2021 in Piscataway.

Wisconsin is the only Big Ten opponent the Scarlet Knights have not faced under head coach Chris Ash. Ash was on the Badger staff for three seasons, winning three Big Ten titles and making three trips to the Rose Bowl. He was the defensive backs coach in 2010 and added the title of defensive coordinator in 2011 and 2012. Chryst overlapped on the same staff as offensive coordinator in 2010 and 2011.

UP NEXT
Rutgers returns home to face No. 5 Michigan at HighPoint.com Stadium on Nov. 10. The game is presented by Horizon and the start time will be announced following this weekend's action. No Big Ten games will be selected for primetime on Nov. 10.
