Tennis Continues Fall Competition at the Navy Blue & Gold Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers tennis continues its fall slate at the Navy Blue & Gold Invitational from Oct. 5-7 at the Brigade Sports Complex. The invite will include two doubles flights and four singles flights with competition beginning at noon on Friday and at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The teams featured will include George Washington, Mary Washington, Maryland, Navy, Richmond, St. Francis University, Towson, and UNC-Wilmington.
RU'S LAST TIME OUT
The Scarlet Knights opened fall action with a strong performance at the Brown Invitational. The team posted a combined record of 12-9 in singles matches.
Freshman Kristiana Zahare led the way with a flawless 3-0 mark in singles action, topping opponents from UMass, Stony Brook, and Brown. Junior Jaci Cochrane, sophomore Maya Jacobs, and freshman Sydney Kaplan all followed with 2-1 marks in singles play.
The duo of junior Kat Muzik and freshman Tess Fisher paced the squad in doubles action with a 2-1 mark. The pair topped opponents from UMass (6-0) and Stony Brook (6-3) before falling in a tight match to Brown (7-6(10-8)).
