Scarlet Knights Hit The Road For the First Time in 2018-19 in Meeting With 49ers at 5 p.m.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Fresh off giving head coach C. Vivian Stringer her historic 1,000th career win, the Rutgers women's basketball team hits the road for the first time in 2018-19 traveling to Charlotte. Tipoff with the 49ers is set for Friday at 5 p.m.

HERSTORY CONTINUES...
On Tuesday night, the Rutgers women's basketball team cruised to a 73-44 win over Central Connecticut State at the RAC to not only improve to 3-0 on the year, but give hall of fame head coach C. Vivian Stringer her 1000th career victory.
Stringer became the sixth women's basketball coach in NCAA history to achieve the historic coaching milestone.
The Scarlet Knights held a 17-8 edge over the Blue Devils at the end of the first quarter and maintained a double digit lead the remainder of the way.
RU had three Scarlet Knights finish the night in double figures led by senior forward Caitlin Jenkins' second double-double of the 2018-19 campaign. Jenkins came off the bench to the tune of 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, classmate Stasha Carey dropped in 12 points along with four blocks and Ciani Cryor contributed 10 points and four assists.
ABOUT CHARLOTTE
The 49ers are off to a 2-0 start on the 2018-19 season with a season opening 70-53 victory over UNC Asheville on Nov. 8 and an 85-63 win against Wofford on Sunday.
Jazmin Harris leads a quartet of Charlotte double figure scorers at 14.5 points per game along with a team second best 6.0 rebounds per contest. For her season opening efforts, the rookie center was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week. Harris had a game-high 19 points, including 11 in the second half, in Sunday's victory against Wofford and collected 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in 18 minutes of action on the floor in her 49er debut with UNC Asheville.
Harris is followed on the stat sheet by redshirt junior guard and Syracuse transfer Jade Phillips at 13.0 points per game and a team leading 8.5 rebounds per game.
Also checking into Friday's contest in double figures are First Team All-CUSA selection senior guard Laia Raventos (12.0 ppg) and sophomore guard Mariah Linney (10.5 ppg).
LAST TIME AT CHARLOTTE
The Rutgers women's basketball team's 2017-18 season opening road trip came to a close on November 16 with a 77-54 victory over Charlotte at Halton Arena.
Tyler Scaife led the Scarlet Knights with 18 points while Jazlynd Rollins added in 13 points to go along with five assists from off the bench. Caitlin Jenkins narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
The 49ers were led by a game-high 21 points from Octavia Wilson with 15 points coming from the line. Amaya Wilson contributed 15 in the loss.
The Scarlet Knights captured 52 points in the paint and capitalized with 38 points off 28 Charlotte turnovers.
STRINGER MILESTONE NUMBERS TO REMEMBER
Rutgers head coach Stringer has compiled a 1000-402 career record in her the 48th season of coaching and joined the elite 1,000 career victory club on November 13 in the Scarlet Knight victory over Central Connecticut State.
Stringer is the sixth NCAA women's basketball coach and fifth NCAA Division I women's basketball coach to reach the milestone victory.
In 2013, Stringer became just the seventh coach - men's or women's - to reach the 900-win mark.
Stringer's 35 20-win seasons are second-best in women's basketball history. Former Tennessee head coach Pat Summit leads all coaches with 36 20-win seasons.
The Naismith and Women's Basketball Hall of Fame Coach is the fifth active winningest Division I coach and sixth all-time in career wins in NCAA women's basketball history.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE DOWN
Senior Caitlin Jenkins has performed double-doubles twice in the first three games of the season.
In the season opener with defending NEC champion St. Francis (Pa.), the Sherevport, Louisiana native poured in 15 points and 15 rebounds, while last Tuesday night she added in 14 points and 12 rebounds.
NATIONALLY SPEAKING
Thru the first three games of the season, Rutgers ranks among the top 10 nationally in six categories.
The Scarlet Knights currently lead the nation in blocked shots with 23 total rejections and check in at 10th nationally in blocks per game (7.7).
RU, who set a school record in rebounds in the season opener against St. Francis (Pa.), are second in total rebounds (126) behind Auburn (159), sixth in offensive rebounds per game (24.0), seventh in rebounding margin (25.7) and ninth in rebounds per game (53.0).
Senior forward Caitlin Jenkins, meanwhile, finds her name listed ninth in toal rebounds (34), while classmate Stasha Carey is listed fourth in blocked shots (9).
As a team last season, Rutgers appeared nationally in the top 25 in four statistical categories last season including ranking ninth in total steals (375), tenth in steals per game (11.7), 20th in blocked shots per game (5.3) and 24th in total blocked shots (168).
