SCARLET KNIGHTS TO WATCH
Bryanna Grant
Bryanna Grant's repeat performance as the Metropolitan triple jump champion was one of three indoor triple jump titles for the fifth-year Scarlet Knight a year ago. Last year, she captured the crown with a leap of 12.34m (40' 6").
Grant is currently ninth in the event in Big Ten following her 12.18m (39' 11.5") jump in which she took third place at the Texas Tech Invitational on Jan. 19.
The Cranford, New Jersey product is the Rutgers record holder in the event.
Sarah Robbie
Fellow fifth-year senior Sarah Robbie, who won the 800m title at the Towson Tiger Invitational to kickoff the season, bested the 800m field at the Metropolitan Championship in 2017 winning the event title in a time of 2:15.72.
Robbie's personal best in the 800m came at last year's Big Ten Championships where she logged a time of 2:08.36.
Also watch for Robbie and her teammates in the 4x800m relay.
Oniesha Clarke
Junior transfer Oniesha Clarke, who will compete this weekend in the 60m and long jump, holds RU's best results to date this season in both events. Clarke's indoor debut saw her clock in at 7.44 in the 60m at the Towson Tiger Invitational, a time that is still the second fastest in the Big Ten, as well as the third fastest time in the Scarlet Knight record books. In the long jump, Clarke reached a distance of 5.78m (18' 11.75") to take third at the Texas Tech Invitational, which currently places her 15th in the Big Ten.
Bria Saunders
Senior Bria Saunders placed second in both the 60m and 200m at last year's Metropolitan Championships. Saunders' 60m time of 7.54 in her runner-up performance is .01 second shy of her career best which she would go on to capture at the Big Ten Indoor Championships just a few weeks later.
Brianna Haspel
Senior Brianna Haspel collected the 1000m title last season at the Metropolitan Championships and went on to close out the 2017 indoor season with a PR of 2:53.21 at the ECAC Indoor Championships.
