Several Scarlet Knights To Compete at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – Several members of the Rutgers women's track and field team will have chances to pick up ECAC qualifying marks and additional preparation before the Scarlet Knights head out to the Big Ten Championships will appearances at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday.
The meet kicks off at 11 a.m. with the field events with track events getting underway at 12:30 p.m.
Competing at Jadwin Gymnasium will be freshman Jacqueline Simmons, sophomore Lynnea Davis, redshirt senior Drew Andrews and senior Oksana Sokolova in the women's long jump, freshman Nyamekye Opoku-Agyemang and freshman Anna Czajkowski in the triple jump and freshman Bukola Akinsola along with Davis and Andrews in the 60m hurdles.
SCARLET KNIGHTS TO WATCH
Drew Andrews
Redshirt senior Drew Andrews had her top finish of the year in the 60m hurdles as the runner-up at the Terrier Classic in 9.00. She also reached the finals and placed eighth in the event at the Valentine's Invitational after capturing a season-best time of 8.95 in the preliminaries.
Anna Czajkowski
Competing in her first indoor season with the Scarlet Knights, freshman Anna Czajkowski helped Rutgers to the Metropolitan Indoor title with a fourth place performance in the long jump at 5.55m (18' 2.5") and seven place finish in the triple jump at 11.00m (36' 1.25").
Lynnea Davis
Sophomore Lynnea Davis has been a top eight finisher for the Scarlet Knights in the 60m at the last two Metropolitan Indoor Championships. She had her best time of the season last weekend at the Valentine's Invitational with a time of 9.12.
Bukola Akinsola
Freshman Bukola Akinsola also reached finals racing the 60m hurdles at this year's Metropolitan Indoor Championships. She captured fifth place with a time of 8.94.
Following this weekend's meet, the Rutgers women's track and field team will head to the 2018 Big Ten Indoor Championships being held at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio on Feb. 23-24.
