Two Scarlet Knights Reach 60m Hurdle Finals

PRINCETON, N.J. – Freshman Nyamekye Opoku-Agyemang leapt her way the Princeton Invitational long jump title on Saturday to highlight the Rutgers women's indoor track and field results at the event.

Opoku-Agyemang reached a distance of 5.59m (18' 4.25") to take first and was one of four Scarlet Knights in the top eight of the long jump. Classmate Jacqueline Simmons claimed third place at 5.46m (17' 11"), senior Oksana Sokolova reached5.45m (17 10.75") land in fourth place and fellow freshman Anna Czajkowski placed fifth at 5.45m (17' 10.75").

In the 60m hurdles, two Scarlet Knights raced in the finals with sophomore Lynnea Davis crossing the finish line in fourth in 9.11 and freshman Bukola Akinsola taking seventh place in 9.32.

The Rutgers women's indoor track and field team returns to competition at the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championship being held at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio on Feb. 23 -24.
