Tennis Signs Kristiana Zahare to National Letter of Intent

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers head coach Hilary Richie has announced the signing of Kristiana Zahare to a National Letter of Intent. Zahare hails from Riga Latvia and will join the Scarlet Knights as a freshman for the 2018-19 campaign.
"I am very excited for Kristiana to join the Scarlet Knight family," said Ritchie. "She has competed in a number of high level international events and brings a lot of competition experience in singles and doubles. I think she will play a big role in continuing to improve the program."
Highlighting her resume, Zahare was a semifinalist in both singles and doubles in ALK Open 2018 hosted in Kaarina, Finland. Most recently, Zahare was a finalist in doubles in Adazi Open in Latvia this past March.
