Murphy Selected as Best D1 Female Goalkeeper by the French Football Federation

MONTPELLIER, FRANCE - Former Scarlet Knight Casey Murphy has made an everlasting professional debut overseas with Montpellier Hérault Sport Club of France, collecting the honor of best D1 Feminine French Goalkeeper by the French Football Federation.
Murphy accepted the honor at the D1 Women's Trophy ceremony, which rewards the major players in the French championship.
Following her selection as the 13th pick in the NWSL draft by local New Jersey program Sky Blue FC, Murphy inked a contract to begin her pro career with Montpellier. Montpellier competes in the Division 1 Féminine, the highest division of women's soccer in France. The club also competes in the Coupe de France Féminine, a cup competition exclusive for French women's football clubs, and the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Women's Champions League. Murphy becomes the third American in the history of MHSC.
Murphy, described as 'The American Wall' by the club, has played 11 matches since her arrival in France, logging 990 minutes in net. She has appeared in UEFA Women's Champions League and French Women's Cup matches.

The 2017 Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year was elected by her new peers as the top netminder in the league, arriving in France just about five months ago.
