
NCAA East Regional Set To Begin Thursday

Bryanna Grant In Triple Jump and Rhonda Rogombe In High Jump Vie For Spots At NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon
TAMPA, Fla. – The 2018 NCAA East Regional gets underway on Thursday with two members of the Rutgers women's outdoor track and field team vying for spots at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon in June. Competing will be sophomore Rhonda Rogombe in the high jump and fifth-year senior Bryanna Grant in the triple jump. The top 12 finishers in each event from the regional being held at USF Track & Field Stadium will earn a bid to the NCAA Championships.

Rhonda Rogombe – High Jump
Rogombe takes part in her second NCAA Regional appearance qualifying with her season-best of 1.73m (5' 8") captured at the USF Bulls Invitational in late March. More recently, the redshirt sophomore cleared 1.71m (5' 7.25") at the Big Ten Championships.
Last season, Rogombe finished seventh at the Big Ten Championships, was the Metropolitan Outdoor Champion and the Colonial Relays runner-up with an outdoor-best 1.75m (5' 8.75").
As a true freshman in 2016, the Charlestown, West Virginia native set the Rutgers indoor high jump record in her Scarlet Knight debut at the Rutgers Invitational held at the Bubble with a height of 1.80m (5' 10.75").
Bryanna Grant – Triple Jump
Grant is the Scarlet Knight record holder in both the indoor and outdoor triple jump. In her last appearance, she placed fifth at the Big Ten Championships resetting the RU benchmark at 12.80m (42' 0"). The Cranford, New Jersey product's jump marked the fifth time she had reset her outdoor PR in 2018.
During the 2018 indoor campaign, Grant captured her third consecutive Metropolitan Indoor triple jump title and was the runner-up in the event at the ECAC Championships.
