Jiang Two Strokes Off Lead after Round Two of Badger Invitational

Whatley cards three-under-par 69 during Monday action in Madison.
MADISON, Wis. – Junior Tony Jiang is two strokes off the lead heading into the final round of the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin. Jiang carded an even 72 during Monday's second round, sophomore Oliver Whatley produced a three-under-par 69 and classmate Christopher Gotterup came in at one under to highlight action for the Scarlet Knights at the University Ridge Golf Course.
As a team, Rutgers is eighth with a 15-over-par 591 (301-290).
Jiang, who is tied for third with 18 holes left to play, led by three strokes after his first nine holes on Monday. He eagled his second hole and birdied holes five and nine to keep atop the leaderboard, but fell behind after his final nine holes of the day. Sitting at five-under-par (67-72) through two rounds, Jiang is scheduled to tee off at 10:30 a.m. ET off hole nine.
Whatley shined on Monday, as he recorded four birdies and 13 pars to finish at one-over-par (76-69) heading into Tuesday. Gotterup also impressed during the second round with five birdies to finish at five-over-par (79-71) through two. Whatley is tied for 17th, while Gotterup is tied for 41st.
Competing as an individual, senior Matthew Mourin is tied for 59th (77-78). Rookie Shayler Dance is tied for 70th (81-78) and junior Adam Gray is tied for 75th (79-82).
Tomorrow's final round will begin at 10:30 a.m. and can be followed here.
