
Olympia Martin Top Scarlet Knight Finisher at Paul Short Run

Top Three Scarlet Knights Across Finish Line Just Shy Of Setting New PRs
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Olympia Martin was once again the top finisher for the Rutgers women's cross team this weekend as the Scarlet Knights competed at the 45th running of the Paul Short Run.
Martin, who was only 18 seconds off her 6K PR, crossed the finish line 59th overall in a field of 353 runners with a time of 21:49. Last season, she was also the top RU finisher with a PR of 21:31.
The next two Scarlet Knights to finish were also only seconds of their personal bests. Junior Nadia Saponara collected a time of 22:25, nine seconds off her PR. Sophomore Kiera Nealon was only one second behind her top time and finished in 22:30.
Two Rutgers harriers scoring for the Scarlet Knights also registered new PRs. Junior Lou Mialhe posted a time of 22:32 and freshman Brooke Riedy logged a finish line time of 22:59.
Rutgers, who entered the race ranked at No. 15 in the USTFCAA Regional Rankings, placed 24th overall in the field of 41 teams which included No. 14 Utah State and No. 26 Georgia.
The Rutgers women's cross country team travels to the Penn State Invitational on Friday, Oct. 12 and gets a glimpse of the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional course.
