Scarlet Knights Race in Final Tune-Up Before B1G Championships
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Fresh off the first place performance at the 2019 Metropolitan Championships, the Rutgers women's cross country team gets ready for its final tune-up before the Big Ten Championships with the short trip down Route 1 to race at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday.

| ABOUT THE MEET |
- The women's 6K race gets underway at 10:45 a.m. at the West Windsor Fields.
- The Scarlet Knights will be one of nearly 30 teams entered into the competition including 11 regionally ranked squads.
- Among the entries are No. 1 Penn, No. 3 Princeton, No. 7 La Salle, No. 8 George Washington and No. 13 Delaware from the Mid-Atlantic Region, No. 2 Columbia, No. 10 Boston University, No. 13 Marist, No. 14 UConn and No. 15 Iona from the Northeast Region and No. 9 Alabama from the South Region.

- Rutgers took the 2019 Metropolitan Cross Country Championship title scoring with three top 10 finishes and all seven entries among the top 25.
- Junior Olympia Martin, who was named Big Ten Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, led the Scarlet Knights with a runner-up performance and clocked in with a new PR of 18:19.5. The Ridgewood, New Jersey native was .4 seconds off the individual champion Sofia Camacho of Columbia. The top RU finisher for the eighth race in-a-row dating back to last season topped her previous best of 18:33 set at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown back on Sept. 22, 2017.
- Senior Stephanie Mauer raced to a seventh place finish with a time of 18:58.9, also a new personal best. She bested her previous top 5K finish of 19:23 also set at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown in 2017.
- Senior Lou Mialhe gave RU its third top 10 finish of the day crossing the finish line in eighth place with a time of 19:11.7. Her time was another RU personal best surpassing her previous best of 19:40.0 set at the 2017 running of the Metropolitan Championships.
- Also scoring for the Scarlet Knights were seniors Emma Bergman (19:39.3) in 15th place and Nadia Saponara (19:56.1).
