Men's Soccer Named United Soccer Coaches Academic Team For Sixth-Straight Year

Scarlet Knights Have Achieved a GPA of 3.0 Or Higher in Eight of Last Nine Seasons
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers men's soccer team was honored with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year, it was announced this week by the organization.
The Scarlet Knights have earned the team academic award from the coaches association for the sixth-straight year and in eight of the last nine seasons.
Rutgers men's soccer was one of a total of 989 collegiate soccer teams (345 men, 644 women) who posted a 3.0 or higher grade point average during the 2018-19 academic year. Both the RU men's and women's soccer teams earned the award, one of 255 schools with both their men's and women's programs recognized.
Also during the 2018-19 academic year, men's soccer placed 13 members on the Big Ten All-Academic Team and including former Scarlet Knights Alex Kaczynski (Economics & Labor Studies and Employment Relations) and Brian Shushkovsky (Finance) earning Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors for a third-straight season after achieving grade point averages of 3.7 or higher. Shushkovsky was named the Rutgers recipient of the Big Ten's annual postgraduate scholarship receiving his degree last May after attaining a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average.
