Apr 15 | Men's Soccer
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 15, 2026) – Head coach Jim McElderry and the R Fund have announced the launch of the Rutgers Men’s Soccer Scholarship Campaign, aimed to help sustain and elevate championship-level soccer “On The Banks.”
With new roster limits set at 28 student-athletes and expanded scholarship funding, programs throughout the Big Ten Conference and nationally are increasing their annual investment in scholarships to recruit and retain elite talent. As a result, scholarship support has become a critical, ongoing factor that directly impacts a program’s competitive success.
Scholarship funding is the lifeblood of our roster construction. It allows us to go head-to-head with top programs for the elite players who define championship teams. By contributing to this campaign, you are providing the direct resources necessary to bring that caliber of talent to RutgersHead Coach Jim McElderry
This campaign offers supporters a direct and immediate way to impact Rutgers men’s soccer by enhancing the recruitment, retention and development of championship-level talent. Every contribution plays a role in positioning the Scarlet Knights to compete with the nation’s best.
The initiative launches with a goal of $72,000, and supporters are encouraged to make their gift today through the R Fund website or by calling the R Fund office at 848-932-7629.
Our program is moving in an exciting direction, and I’d welcome the opportunity to share that vision. There is no better time than now to invest in Rutgers Men’s Soccer. With your support, we can continue to compete for Big Ten championships, develop professional players and provide life-changing opportunities for our student-athletes.Head Coach Justin Price
Since McElderry and his staff’s arrival in 2019, the Scarlet Knights have established themselves as one of the premier programs at Rutgers. The team captured the 2022 Big Ten Tournament Championship, becoming the first men’s program in school history to win a Big Ten title. Rutgers has continued to compete among the elite programs in NCAA Division I soccer, climbing as high as No. 13 nationally last season — and with increased scholarship support, the program is positioned to reach new historic heights.
