SCOUTING RUTGERS
The Scarlet Knights look to return to the win column after falling to Maryland, 48-7, last week. Redshirt freshman Johnny Langan made his first collegiate start at quarterback and recorded 222 yards (163 passing, 59 rushing) of total offense, including a 3-yard rushing touchdown. Junior Bo Melton, who is averaging 17.1 yards per catch this year, helped setup the score with a 48-yard reception from Langan on a double reverse flea flicker.

Defensively, both fifth-year senior Willington Previlon and sophomore Drew Singleton notched a sack against the Terrapins. Junior Tyshon Fogg paces the team, ranks fifth in the Big Ten and 31st nationally with 9.2 tackles per game this season.

RU had two blocked kicks on special teams last time out, with junior Julius Turner (extra point) and sophomore Mike Tverdov (field goal) each recording a rejection. The program has now had at least two blocked kicks every season since 2002, totaling 89 overall during the time period. In addition, the punt unit ranks third in the Big Ten and 12th nationally with a net of 42.71 yards per attempt. Junior Adam Korsak has pinned 16-of-31 inside the 20-yard line.

SCOUTING INDIANA
The Hoosiers are coming off a bye week after suffering a 40-31 loss at then-No. 25 Michigan State on Sept. 28. The team swept the non-conference slate with victories over Ball State, Eastern Illinois and Connecticut. IU ranks 21st nationally with 304 passing yards per game, with Michael Penix finishing 33-for-42 and three touchdowns against the Spartans. On the ground, Stevie Scott III owns 281 rushing yards and four scores. Micah McFadden paces the defense with 4.5 tackles-for-loss.

Tom Allen is in his fourth season as head coach since taking over for the 2016 Foster Farms Bowl.

THE SERIES
Saturday will mark the sixth meeting on the gridiron between Rutgers and Indiana since first playing in 2014. The Scarlet Knights won the first two matchups, while the Hoosiers have taken the last three. Last season in Piscataway, Rutgers scored 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, but the comeback fell short in a 24-17 loss. The Scarlet Knights scored a touchdown on their opening drive on an 11-yard pass on third down from Artur Sitkowski to Shameen Jones. After Tyreek Maddox-Williams forced a fumble in the fourth quarter, Isaih Pacheco and Jerome Washington connected for a 39-yard gain to setup a 1-yard rushing touchdown by Jonathan Hilliman. Damon Hayes picked off a pass to take back possession and Justin Davidovicz connected on a 52-yard field goal, the longest in stadium history and tied for the fourth longest in program history. However, the Hoosiers ran out the clock to close out the game.

Rutgers won the first game in 2014 by the score of 45-23, its largest margin of victory over a Big Ten opponent since joining the conference. In the 2015 meeting in Bloomington, Rutgers tied its school record with a 25-point comeback in a 55-52 victory that featured 1,223 combined yards of total offense. The 55 points are the most scored by Rutgers in a Big Ten game since joining the conference. Rutgers rallied for 28 unanswered points to end the game, as Kyle Federico hit a 26-yard field as time expired.
