
Kieran Mullins Named National Player of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse attackman Kieran Mullins was sensational for the Scarlet Knights last Saturday, scoring six goals and adding three assists in the 19-15 win over St. John's. On Monday, Mullins was nationally recognized as the Warrior / US Lacrosse player of the Week. The accolade, selected by US Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors, recognizes the top performers in Division I men's lacrosse throughout the season.
The Scarlet Knights closed the game on a seven-goal run over the final 10 minutes of the fourth quarter, turning a three-goal deficit into a four-goal margin of victory. Mullins factored in on five of the seven goals, scoring the final three of the game and adding two assists.
The Islip, N.Y. native tied his career-high with three assists. It was the junior captain's third career game with at least six goals and nine points. Mullins' has the last three nine-plus point games to be recorded by a Scarlet Knight: vs. St. John's (6 goals, 3 assists), vs Michigan (April 8, 2018 – 8 goals 2 assists), and at Michigan (April 8, 2017 – 8 goals 1 assist). Mullins had the highest point total in a game for any Division I player last week, and he leads the Big Ten with 4.5 goals-per-game.
