PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers baseball home opener scheduled for Tuesday versus Wagner has been postponed due to wind chills expected in the 20s. Therefore, the April 3 game between the teams will now be played at Bainton Field.
Â
"We scheduled this game with the hopes of getting a playable day in February," head coach
Joe Litterio said. "If not, both teams agreed ahead of time to move the April 3 date to Rutgers."
Â
The Scarlet Knights (2-4) are coming off a 2-1 weekend at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Baseball Classic hosted by the University of New Orleans, beating Butler and Chicago State. The next series is set to start Friday at Old Dominion.
