THE FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
1. Rutgers Athletics announced it will expand beer and wine sales at department-managed venues beginning this fall. Revenues from the sales will serve to off-set scholarship costs, which supports more than 600 student-athletes and exceed $16 million annually.
2. Senior Izaiah Brown captured his fourth straight 400m indoor title at the 2019 Big Ten Track and Field Championships. Brown becomes the first Scarlet Knight to claim four Big Ten titles in the same event. His time of 45.82 ranks 10th in the nation heading into NCAAs.
3. Women's swimming and diving seniors Vera Koprivova and Francesca Stoppa claimed bronze medals during the final session of the Big Ten Championships. One night after earning the program's first Big Ten swimming medal, Koprivova cemented her legacy by becoming Rutgers' first two-time medalist.
4. Per the Ken Pomeroy rating system, men's basketball is the most improved Power 5 Conference program, advancing 70 positions since Nov. 6. Rutgers' roster places 327th in experience against a schedule ranked 18th nationally in difficulty.
5. Women's soccer hosted its second annual Fearless Together fundraiser in partnership with RWJ Barnabas Health on Saturday evening. Nearly 300 fearless guests attended the sold-out event for a night of food, music, and guest speakers at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Courtyard.
Women's Basketball (18-8, 10-5)
• Heads into the final three games of the regular season with a pair of home games this week. Hosts Wisconsin on Monday at 7 p.m. (BTN2Go) and Minnesota in the home regular season finale on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. (BTN).
• Tim Eatman has taken over as acting head coach C. Vivian Stringer, who is expected to rejoin the team following the Big Ten Tournament.

Men's Basketball (13-14, 6-11)
• Montez Mathis scored 18 points and Geo Baker made a clutch three-pointer with under a minute remaining in a 68-64 defeat of Minnesota Sunday at the RAC. (Recap | Highlights | Press Conference)
• Held an 11-point lead early in the second half, but was unable to hold-off No. 10/11 Michigan State in a 71-60 loss Wednesday at the Breslin Center. (Recap | BTN Highlights)
• Episode six of the Rutgers Basketball Story aired, which included segments on the RWJBarnabas Health Athletic Performance Center and the student managers.
No. 18 Wrestling (12-6, 5-4)
• Has a short break before competing at the 2019 Big Ten Championships from March 9-10 in Minneapolis.
• Closed out its dual season with a 25-12 win over Maryland on Friday in College Park. The victory secured a winning Big Ten Conference record for the third time since RU joined the league in 2014-15. (Recap | Highlights)
Men's Track & Field
• Returns to Boston for the IC4A Championships on March 2-3.
• Recorded seven podium finishes at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, led by freshman A'Nan Bridgett with a bronze medal in the long jump.
• The 4x400 relay team consisting of senior Sterling Pierce, freshman Christopher Jenkins, sophomore Taj Burgess and Brown broke the Rutgers indoor record with a time of 3:08.00. The quartet finished fourth in the event, less than a tenth of a second behind the third-place team
• As part of coverage for the seven conference winter championships, BTN will re-air highlights of the meet on Tuesday, Feb. 26 on 5:30 p.m. ET.
Women's Track & Field
• Returns to competition at the ECAC Championships on March 1-3.
• Finished 13th at the Big Ten Indoor Championships.
• Jenna Sobieski took sixth place in the 800m with the second fastest time in the Rutgers record books.
• Oniesha Clarke made her second-straight 60m finals appearance and placed eighth.
Gymnastics (3-12, 2-7)
• Travels to New Hampshire Saturday for a quad meet that also includes Brown and NC State.
• Topped No. 22 Ohio State at the Big Five meet with a 194.650. The competition was contested on podium in Toledo, Ohio. (Recap)
• Coupled with previous win over No. 25 Penn State, finish conference regular season with two Big Ten wins after picking up two combined the previous four seasons.
Swimming & Diving
• Vera Koprivova won bronze in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events at the Big Ten Championships, while breaking a school record in the 100. (Recap)
• Francesca Stoppa scored two podium finishes at the conference meet, placing sixth in the 100-yard butterfly and breaking a school record in her preliminary heat, then claiming her first medal with a bronze performance in the 200-yard butterfly.
• Rutgers placed 11th overall with 392 points.
No. 12 Men's Lacrosse (2-2)
• Travels to Fairfield on Saturday at 1 p.m. It will be broadcast by the Lax Sports Network.
• Fell 13-7 to No. 1 ranked Loyola on Saturday on BTN (Recap)

Women's Lacrosse (3-1)

Tennis (4-2)
• Hosts Buffalo on Friday at the East Brunswick Racquet Club.

Women's Golf
• Returns to the links at the River Landing Classic, March 4-5, in Wallace, N.C.
• Announced that Leigha Devine and Nicole Ewing have completed the required paperwork to attend Rutgers and compete as freshmen in 2019-20.
Men's Golf
• Returns to action next Monday and Tuesday at the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, South Carolina.
• Former letterwinner Toks Pedro earned status on China's PGA Tour over the weekend.
Baseball (2-4)
• Travels to Norfolk, Virginia this weekend for three-game series against ODU.
• Beat Butler and Chicago State and lost to New Orleans at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Baseball Classic hosted by New Orleans.
• Tim Dezzi delivered a two-run walk-off single in the bottom ninth to cap a 3-2 comeback win over Butler. Harry Rutkowski pitched 7.1 innings with one earned run allowed. (Recap)

Softball (6-9)
• Makes a pit stop at the University of Virginia for a Thursday, Feb, 28 date at 5 p.m. before continuing on to Lynchburg, Virginia for the Liberty Spring Classic against Robert Morris, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Cleveland State and the host Flames.

Men's Soccer
• Will be one of 13 NCAA programs to compete in the second annual College Development Program with U.S. Soccer. The College Development program was designed to further player development and help identify youth national team prospects and has programs participate under international standards that makes integration into the professional and national teams easier.
