Women’s Lacrosse Travels to Drexel Saturday

Scarlet Knights face Dragons for noon matchup in Philadelphia

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse (3-2, 0-0) hits the road this Saturday to face Drexel (1-2, 0-0). The game is set for a noon start at Vidas Field in Philadelphia.
 
Last Time Out
In their last time out, sophomore attacker Taralyn Naslonski scored four goals, including three in the second half, as the Scarlet Knights dropped a 15-5 contest to No. 12 UPenn Wednesday night at HighPoint.com Stadium. For Naslonski, it marked the fourth time in five games she has collected two or more goals, as the Randolph, New Jersey, native also added a team-high four draw controls and a ground ball against the Quakers.
 
Scouting Drexel
Drexel enters the game after it dropped a 16-5 matchup with No. 18 Georgetown last Saturday in Washington, D.C. The Dragons also own a loss against No. 16 Johns Hopkins and a win over Iona to open 2019.
 
Through three games, Colleen Grady leads the team with eight points on four goals and four assists, while Courtney Dietzel has scored a team-high six goals for the Dragons.
 
Zoe Bennet has started all three games for Drexel in goal and owns a 14.19 GAA and a .429 save percentage to go along with 24 stops against 32 goals allowed.
 
Series History
Rutgers leads the all-time series against Drexel, 4-3, which includes in the schools' last two meetings. Last season, Abbey Brooks and Samantha Budd each had four goals to help the Scarlet Knights secure a 15-7 win over the Dragons at HighPoint.com Stadium.
 
Naslonski on the National Scene
Naslonski has been one of the most dangerous offensive players in the country through the first few weeks of the season. The attacker is fourth in the country in points (28), tied for sixth in assists (12), tied for 11th in points-per-game (5.60), tied for 13th in goals (16) and tied for 18th in assists-per-game (2.40). Naslonski is also tied for 37th in goals-per-game through five outings, having scored two or more goals four times this season.

Budd Approaching Draw Control Milestone
Budd needs three more draw controls to reach 100 for her career. Through five games this season, Budd has secured 14 DC's, the second most on the team in 2019. With three draw controls, Budd will become just the seventh Scarlet Knight to reach the 100 draw-control milestone. 
 
Halsall B1G Rookie of the Week
Goalkeeper Kameron Halsall was named Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week after she produced a career-high 11 saves – including nine in the second half – to help the Scarlet Knights to a 12-11 overtime victory last Saturday at Delaware.
 
It marked the first conference award of her career and the third consecutive freshman of the week for RU this season, as Marin Hartshorn collected back-to-back rookie accolades to open the 2019 season.
 
Within the B1G
Naslonski leads the conference in assists-per-game (2.40), is second in points-per-game (5.60) and tied-for-fifth in goals-per-game (3.20). Hartshorn is ninth with 1.20 assists-per-game and 10th with 3.20 points-per-game, while Halsall is fifth in the Big Ten with a 7.35 GAA. Hartshorn is also sixth in draw controls with 3.8-per-outing.
