PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Competing at home for the final time this season, Rutgers gymnastics used a season high on vault and a strong finish on floor exercise to score a 194.425, taking first place in a quad meet Friday at the RAC. Bridgeport placed second at 194.125, with Towson third at 192.800 and Centenary fourth at 192.000.

The Scarlet Knights have posted a 194 or better in each of the past six outings and in seven of the last eight.

It was the final time seniors
Riahanah Ali,
Michelle Amoresano,
Jenna Rizkalla and
Eriel Santagado took the stage in the front of the home crowd. The quartet, along with four-year team manager
Allie Palmer, were recognized in a ceremony following the fourth rotation.
"The seniors really stepped up in their final home meet," head coach
Umme Salim-Beasley said. "They really balanced their excitement and nerves, and turned in a memorable performance. It was a very emotional night, but I'm sure they will remember the win and getting to compete in front of the RAC crowd one last time. Each of them added their piece to the puzzle tonight to help us be successful."

The Scarlet Knights came out with a 48.950 on vault, the best mark on the event this season. Ali, matching her career high, and Rizkalla both tied for first at 9.850, with Amoresano right there with a 9.800. Sophomore
Belle Huang contributed a 9.750, while sophomore
Toni Williams and junior
Kaitlyn Hall ran to a 9.700 to make it six hits in the first rotation.

Shannon Farrell highlighted the uneven bars lineup with a personal-best and first-place 9.925, which ranks tied for fourth in the program record book. The number was last achieved in 2003 by Kristen Marino. Huang and Amoresano followed by earning a 9.800 apiece. In addition, Hall picked up a 9.675 to help the team finish at 48.725.

Rutgers totaled a 48.125 on balance beam before ending with a 48.625 on floor exercise. Ali went out with a 9.900 in her final routine at the RAC, also claiming her second first place of the night. Huang, who entered the week with a 9.855 RQS, took second by notching a 9.875. Rizkalla and Amoresano impressed to a 9.850 and a 9.600, respectively, to close and push RU up to first on their senior night.

Huang won the all-around by collecting a 39.075, as Amoresano recorded a 38.850.

The Scarlet Knights will be back in action Sunday at Kent State. The quad meet will start at 1 p.m. and also include Ball State and North Carolina.
