PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse was recognized with three weekly awards from the Big Ten Conference on Tuesday afternoon following a 14-6 victory Sunday at No. 4 Ohio State.
Kieran Mullins was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week,
Kyle Pless was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and
Max Edelmann was named Big Ten Specialist of the Week.
Mullins had a game-high eight points on four goals and four assists and scooped two ground balls. It was his second game this year with at least eight points. The Islip, N.Y. native is second in the conference and top-five in the nation in points per game (5.6) and assists per game (3.0). Previously on Tuesday, the junior attackman was also named to the USILA Team of the Week, his second national recognition of the year following earning the inaugural US Lacrosse Player of the Week award this season.

Pless and Edelmann anchored the Rutgers defense in holding down Ohio State, dealing the Buckeyes their first loss of the season. Behind their efforts, OSU had a season-low six goals, seven below their average entering the game and their first time scoring less than 11 in a game this year.
Pless led Rutgers with five ground balls and two caused turnovers. The Highlands Ranch, Colo. native leads the Big Ten in caused turnovers per game (1.8).
Edelmann made 17 saves, his sixth time reaching that figure this season after entering the campaign with a career-high of 16. The Middletown, Md. native leads in the nation in saves per game (16.13) and is second in the nation and first in the Big Ten in save percentage (62%).
With the accolades, Rutgers has now compiled 10 weekly awards from the Big Ten this season. For this season, this is Pless' fourth Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week award, Edelmann's second Specialist of the Week award, and Mullins' second Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award. In their careers, Mullins has earned eight Big Ten weekly awards, Pless has six and Edelmann has three. Since joining the conference in 2015, Rutgers has earned 54 Big Ten Player of the Week accolades.
