Allsebrook Earns Sportsmanship Award
Apr 24 | Women's Golf
PISCATAWAY - The Big Ten Conference office announced its women's golf postseason honors and Rutgers' Harriet Allsebrook was selected as a Sportsmanship Award recipient. The sophomore from the United Kingdom posted a program-record 74.22 scoring average this past season, playing 27 rounds in 10 tournaments.
Competing in first position, Allsebrook tallied a tournament-best 28 pars and was minus three on par five holes to tie for 11th in the 84-player field with a 145 (74-71) at the 2019 Big Ten Championship. Her 11th place finish marked the best individual showing for a Scarlet Knight at the Championship after Emily Mills tied for 12th in 2016.
On March 20, Allsebrook was named the Big Ten Conference Women's Co-Golfer of the Week after setting a program-record with a nine-under par 207 (67-70-70) to win the Juli Inkster Invitational at Meadow Club. Her performance helped Rutgers to a first place finish at the 12-team event with a team-record 868 (284-295-289) total. Allsebrook was minus five on par fours, minus three on par fives, and minus one on par threes to win the 72-player tournament by five strokes. She became the first Scarlet Knight to capture individual medalist honors since Mills won the River Landing Classic in March 2018.
A Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division I All-America Scholar as a freshman in 2017-18, Allsebrook is a psychology major and an active participant in Rutgers Leadership Developments and Strategic Partnerships community service initiatives.
