Softball Begins Series at Indiana on BTN Friday

Scarlet Knights kick off a crucial three-game Big Ten set at Indiana on national television on Friday at 6 p.m.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (April 25, 2019) - Rutgers softball travels for its final regular season road games at Indiana for a three-game Big Ten series beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. on Big Ten Network, with Mike Monaco and Sammy Nettling on the call.

Winning seven of their last eight Big Ten games, the Scarlet Knights (24-20, 8-9) are currently riding their best eight-game conference stretch since winning 11 straight games in the Atlantic 10 in 1990. They sit in sixth place in the Big Ten standings with six conference games remaining.

The Hoosiers (31-18, 6-11) are right behind in the standings in a four-way tie for seventh place. Indiana dropped two of three games at Rutgers to conclude the 2018 regular season last spring, with the Scarlet Knights outscoring the Hoosiers, 12-7, over the three games behind three RBIs from then-freshman Myah Moy, and a complete-game shutout from then-junior starting pitcher Whitney Jones in the series opener.

Price faced the minimum 21 batters in the masterpiece. The rookie leads the staff in innings (142.2), ERA (2.85), WHIP (1.11) and strikeouts (90). Price's nine strikeouts against Robert Morris was the program's most in a game since nine on March 18, 2016.
