BETHLEHEM, PA. – Rutgers men's track and field opened its 2019 season with a second-place team finish at the Lehigh Invitational on Friday night. The 6K race took place at the Goodman Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Seniors
Cole Pschunder and
Andrew Comito led the Scarlet Knights with top 10 finishes. Pschunder posted a time of 19:13.13 to cross the line eighth, while Comito registered a result of 19:16.73
Junior
Billy Hill followed with a mark of 19:19.95 to cross 12th. In his debut,
Thomas Hillyer recorded a time of 19:46.77 to round out the Top 25 performers in the field of 93.
RU finished second just behind host Lehigh. La Salle placed third to round out the Top 3. The invite also included Moravian, NJIT, Temple, Muhlenberg and DeSales.
Rutgers competes at the Fordham Fiasco on Saturday, Sept. 7 in the Bronx. Race time is set for 9:30 a.m. at Van Cortlandt Park.
