Scarlet Knights take three-match win streak into weekend against New Hampshire, Quinnipiac and the host Raiders.
HAMILTON, N.Y. (Sept. 12, 2019) - Rutgers volleyball takes a three-match winning streak into the Ellis Rowland Memorial Tournament at Colgate, where they'll face New Hampshire (Fri., 3 p.m.), Quinnipiac (Sat., 10 a.m.) and the host Raiders (Sat., 5:30 p.m.).

• Senior libero Karysa Swackenberg has been named the Big Ten Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for her performance during the period ending Sept. 8. The honor is the first of its kind for Rutgers since joining the conference in 2014.
• Swackenbeg led Rutgers in digs in all three matches against Towson, Princeton and Virginia – contributing to a trio of four-set victories for the Scarlet Knights and the team's first Rutgers Invitational crown since 2012. Swackenberg averaged 4.58 digs per set, with a high mark of 22 against Princeton on Friday evening. Swackenberg was exceptional on the serve receive, making just three errors in 59 attempts for a .952 average. She added three service aces and 11 assists without a setting error.
• The Scarlet Knights are once again nationally ranked in blocking - coming in at 11th place this week with 2.96 per set. RU set a program record for blocks in a season in 2018 with 300 total and 2.63 per set. Rutgers ended the season ranked 27th in the nation and fourth in the Big Ten in blocking last season.
• After setting eight school records in 2018, the Scarlet Knights already have two new program marks in the books for 2019. The team set a record for blocks in a four-set match with 18 against Towson on Sept. 6, while sophomore middle Merle Weidt totaled 12 blocks - an individual record for blocks in a four-setter.
• Swackenberg scooped a career-high 27 digs in the five-set match against Grand Canyon last Saturday as she surpassed 1,000 career digs as a Scarlet Knight. She becomes just the eighth player in program history to reach 1,000 digs, and now ranks seventh all-time with 1,065 digs.
• Senior middle Jasmine Stackhouse raised her career total to 312 blocks, which ranks seventh in the all-time record book at Rutgers. Her 120 total blocks last season are a school record for a single season since 25-point rally scoring began in 2008.
• Sophomore setter Inna Balyko surpassed the 1,000 assist mark as a freshman, and now ranks ninth all-time with 1,310. The rookie reached the 1K milestone in 108 sets played and ended the year with 9.32 assists per set. Balyko earned the program's first Big Ten weekly honor with a Freshman of the Week nod on Sept. 3, 2018.
• Junior right side Beka Kojadinovic bounced a career-high and team season-high 18 kills in the four-set win over Princeton on Friday evening. She made just one error on 32 swings for a .531 attack percentage.
• Rutgers had led or tied for the lead in team blocks in five of six matches.
• Rutgers had led or tied for the lead in team service aces in four of six matches.
• Five Scarlet Knights have 2.0 or more kills per set, while four different RU players have led a match in kills this season.
• Senior libero Karysa Swackenberg has posted 50 double-digit dig efforts in her career.
The Scarlet Knights play a pair of matches in Washington, D.C. to wrap up the 2019 non-conference schedule at American on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. and at Howard on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m.

- New Hampshire is also riding a three-match winning streak and stands at 6-2 overall. The Wildcats take pride in defense with 13.5 digs per set and 2.3 blocks per set, led by two-time reigning America East Specialist of the Week - libero Emily Tanski.
- Quinnipiac has won four straight after starting the season 0-2. The Bobcats have won 12 of 14 sets over that four-match span, and are led by middle blocker Kaleigh Oates and her 3.62 kills per set on a near-.500 swing percentage.
- Colgate are winners of five consecutive matches, and have seen four of its six matches go to five sets during a 5-1 start to the year. Outside hitter Alli Lowe, who leads the Raiders with 4.3 kills per set, put down 13 kills and two solo blocks in the 2018 season opening, four-set victory over the Scarlet Knights at the University of California.
