PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Sept. 17, 2019) -
Brendan Blood has joined the Rutgers swimming and diving staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2019-20 season.
Blood comes to the Scarlet Knights with two years of coaching experience at Apex Aquatics in New Brunswick and at the Princeton Tigers Aquatic Club. Blood has assisted in the development and implementation of season-long training plans, supervising workouts and training sessions, and meet set up. Blood also spent a summer as a counselor at Georgia Swim Camp in Athens, Ga.
Blood earned a bachelor of arts in public relations from Rider University in 2019. He was a member of the Rider men's swimming and diving team, where he swam freestyle and the individual medley. Blood earned consecutive MAAC All-Academic Team honors in 2018 and 2019.
He was a four-year letter winner and New Jersey State Championships qualifier at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
Blood is certified in First Aid, Lifeguarding and CPR since 2012, and is a USA Swimming certified coach.
